ABOUT
I’m PING LING PANG LANG (PLPL or Tommy Lai), an artist and designer based in Hong Kong. I embrace a multidisciplinary approach and refuse to be confined to a single category or style, engaging in a wide range of practices, including but not limited to graphic design, illustration, object making, installations, and the creation of various products. My style of work is bold, vibrant and versatile, with a sense of humor and playfulness as the common threads throughout.

The name "PING LING PANG LANG" is an onomatopoeia in Cantonese that mimics the sound of objects colliding. It also reflects the sounds we hear as we move through a space filled with the diverse creations I have made.

INAPPROPRAITE EXERCISE
Inappropriate Exercise, the name of my journal where I will share everything with you via email on an irregular basis — it could be weekly, monthly, or sometimes even twice a day. For instance, I’ll cover the people I talk to, photos of unusual spaces, funny objects I discover on the street, new products, old ideas, ugly sketches, today’s weather, and much more. In addition to digital content, I will also release physical zines from time to time.
