In 2018, Hong Kong–based designer Tommy Lai founded PING LING PANG LANG (PLPL) as a brand to expand his creativity, focusing on accessories and clothing. Later, in 2026, Tommy reformed the brand with a consistent creative direction, using the “PLPL bleeding face” as a canvas for simple and humorous illustrations.

“PING LING PANG LANG” is a Cantonese onomatopoeia that describes chaotic, noisy clattering. It also reflects the sounds we hear as we move through a space filled with the diverse creations we have made.
